IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THIS COPY AND THIS RECORD IN GENERAL.....
If you are familiar with the record, please disregard the below as you already know it....if you are not familiar with the record, the below will help you to make sure you know what you are buying. We hope you buy a copy from us, but if not the below guide will help assure you are getting what you are paying for!!

This particular copy is an authentic pressing. It is what is called a song titles cover, which means it lists the song titles in two separate rows on the back cover. It is an authentic second version listing the songs Ask Me Why and Please Please Me on the rear. It is a MONO pressing, and the label has the Plain Vee Jay Logo. There are 37 known authentic variations of this record, and this is one of them!!

THE ALBUM IN GENERAL
There are numerous ways to tell if the copy you are looking at or have is authentic or not. Listed below are some of the best ways to tell.

Characteristics of a Counterfeit Cover:
1. If there is a brown border around the cover, it is a fake!
2. If the cover has a bright yellow tint and the word stereo on the upper left, it is a fake!
3. If George Harrison does not cast a shadow to his right, the cover is a fake!
4. If the cover has red, blue and or yellow dots, the cover is a fake!
5. If the cover quality is poor or grainy, or coloring seems off, it is a fake!
6. If the back cover print is blurry in any way, it is a fake!
7. Look at the song A Taste of Honey on the back cover..if there are printer defects in the H and or E, it is a fake!!

Characteristics of A Counterfeit Record:
1. If the title and artist are separated by the spindle hole, it is a fake. (i.e The Beatles above the hole and Introducing the Beatles below the center hole)
2. If the dead wax after the last track is over an inch wide, it is a fake!
3. If the label is all black and glossy, it is a fake!
4. If the label is the colorband design and is flat textured, it is a fake
5. If the colorband shows significant loss of color, it is a fake. (Especially in the green area)

There are other methods as well, but these are the most common and the most obvious. Of course, we guarantee every copy we sell as what we sell it as... if we sell it as authentic we guarantee it is. If we sell it as a copy/counterfeit/bootleg/unofficial/fake/whatever we also guarantee it is not an authentic copy!!

One other important note....We have listened to many non authentic copies, and most of them are very high quality and sound great. To me, I would rather have anything authentic over anything non authentic, but if you want a copy of this record and don't want to pay hundreds (or thousands) of dollars, an unofficial/non authentic version may be the way to go!

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Do We List All Records Individually, Instead of Using Quantity?

We get asked this alot, and the answer is quite simple. No two records are alike. Grading may be the same, but each cover and record is different. By listing each one individually with its own catalogue number, what you receive is exactly what you see pictured. This is especially important for cover condition. Some have hype stickers and shrink wrap, some have writing, etc. Be assured the record you receive will be the exact one in the picture. Using quantity instead of each record individually would save a ton of time, but we do it this way so that each buyer gets exactly what they are expecting!

Our Record Grading Scale M-NM

Our scale is similar, but not the same, as goldmine. We have used this scale for years and feel it most accurately represents the condition of the records.

Mint (Sealed)
Sealed In Shrink, Never Opened. Vinyl should be perfect

Mint (Not Sealed)
Vinyl.. Record will look as if it was never played. No scratches or blemishes of any sort. Very seldom used grade
Cover.. Cover will be nearly flawless, no writing, creases, damaged corners, etc. Very Seldom Used Grade

Near Mint
Vinyl...Record will be nearly flawless. No scratches, dings, scuffs, etc
Cover...Cover will look almost new. Maybe a tiny corner wear. No writing, creases, holes, dings, etc

1 of 3

Our Record Grading Scale EX-VG

Excellent

Vinyl...Most of the records we sell are in this range. Vinyl may have a few light scuffs or scratches, but nothing that distracts from the sound quality when playing.
Cover... Covers will look great with no major damages, writing, etc.

Very Good
Vinyl... Record will have scuffs and scratches, but they will not affect the play quality. Record should play through with no skips or major pops. Label may have writing on it.
Cover...Cover will show normal handling wear for the age. May have a cut or writing somewhere on the front or back. May have a light water stain. Will not have paper loss or drawing.

Our Record Grading Scale G-P

Good
Vinyl...A Good record is in fact not really that good. Should play through but may have sound distortions, pops, etc.
Cover...A Good cover is in fact not really that good either! It can be torn, water damaged, have paper loss, heavy writing, etc. But you will still be able to see it!

Fair and Poor
These grades are really one in the same.... and neither is good. Please don't buy a poor or fair graded record and expect it to look good or sound good! It probably won't!! These should only be used for art projects, collection fillers until a better copy can be obtained, or if you just want that particular record and don't want to spend a ton of money!!

Any questions about our grading guidelines please let us know!

Do We Buy Records and Record Collections?

Of course! Just message us for a quote! No collection is too large, and no transaction is too small. You may be surprised by what we will buy and how much we will pay for it!!

Do We Have A Storefront You Can Visit?

Not at this time. We are online only, and all items are shipped with the exception of large furniture items that are marked as pick up only.

Customer Satisfaction

Our #1 Priority is customer satisfaction. If your record does not play well, please email us and let us know. We will either offer a refund or a replacement. We don't just sell records, we help you build your collection. That's why every record is shipped in a clear 3 or 4mil plastic protector, which will preserve your record and cover for years to come. Also looks better than just having records loose on a shelf!! We have over 5000 repeat customers and hope to double that by the end of 2022. Our formula to do that is simple.. fair prices, honest descriptions and great customer service. If you are happy, so are we. If you aren't, let us at least try to make you happy!! You will find we are very easy to work with!

Do You Trade Records?

Of course! Let's say you have a bunch of country records, only problem is you like rock. Message us with a list of what you have, and which records in our shop you would like to trade for. We have done many trades where the only money that changes hands is for shipping!

Do you carry other records not listed in the store?

Yes! At any given time we will have 3-5000 records listed in our store. At that same time, we have another 10-15 thousand that aren't listed! As the old saying goes, there is not enough time in the day! We have a complete list of the majority of them, so if you are looking for something particular just message us and we will tell you if we have it, the condition and price, and then set up a custom listing for you with pictures and any specific details.
